COMPOSITION:
It is a metallic
soap made from the chemical reaction of Metal oxide, hydroxide and salt with
mono-carboxylic saturated Acid like napthenic, octoic etc. The soap thus made is
thinned with mineral turpentine to make different concentrations.

PROPERTIES AND
USES:
It is an auxiliary
drier and is used in conjunction with the active driers. It retards surface dry
but promotes through drying by keeping film surface open for long time. This
also helps to eliminate webbing and frosting. It stablizes lead, promotes gloss,
colour retention and flim hardness.
It is a good dispersing and wetting agent. It can be used as fungicide also. It
prevents wrinkling when used with cobalt, lead and manganese.
