Calcium Drier- Available in metal conc of 2%, 3%, 6%.
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION:
It
is a metallic soap, made from the chemical reaction of metal oxide, hydroxide
and salt with mono carboxylic saturated acid like napthenic, octoic etc. The
soap thus made is thinned with mineral turpentine to make different
concentrations.

PROPERTIES AND USES:
It is an auxiliary drier. In conjunction with cobalt and or Manganese it functions as a lead drier inducing through dry. It prevents lead precipitation or haze and keep the solution clear and bright. It reduces any tendency to bloom in long PE Alkyd film. It is a good wetting and dispersing agent. It enhances hardness, gloss and reduces skinning and silking. High humidity and low temp. influences negatively , that is why external use is avoided. It inhibits to some extent drier absorption in pigmented finishes.
